An unforgettable sunset spot
Looking for the perfect place to catch a sunset? Gosań Hill is your answer.
At 94 metres, it’s the highest cliff on the Polish coast – and only 4 km north of Międzyzdroje, on the way to Wisełka.
There’s a large paved parking area, and from there, a well-maintained path leads through the forest straight to the top. The trail is easy and short – just 450 metres.
Closer to the summit, a few wooden-reinforced steps bring you to the viewing point.
Gosań also has a military past. In the 1950s, it became a key observation point for Poland’s 17th Coastal Artillery Battery. You’ll still find traces of its history: a 17-metre concrete watchtower and a few military bunkers near the cliff edge. Due to safety reasons, the bunkers are sealed off today.
The view
From the top, the panorama stretches across the Bay of Pomerania – from Międzyzdroje and Świnoujście to Germany’s Usedom Island and even Ahlbeck. On clear days, you might spot the wreck of the tanker Karl Finsterwalde, 2 km offshore.
Gazing out to sea feels like standing at the edge of the world – the view is wide open, wild and breathtaking. The cliff is slowly reclaimed by the sea, with about one metre disappearing each year, making this landscape uniquely ever-changing.
Still a hidden gem – peaceful and uncrowded.

Access is mainly on foot; bikes can only reach part of the way. Strollers and wheelchairs may find the terrain difficult.
